Sport Clips and Mike Wallace Together Again

Player Management International PR

Daytona Beach, Fla. (February 13, 2007) – Mike Wallace is hoping that he can ‘cut’ through the field in 2007 and he will now have help from Sport Clips All*Star Haircuts for Men & Boys.  Sport Clips appeared as an associate sponsor on Mike Wallace’s #4 GEICO car in 2004 and now, in their fourth season, they find themselves back on another Mike Wallace GEICO car, but this time the car number is 7.  The #7 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS is fielded by Phoenix Racing and is a teammate to J.J. Yeley who will be driving the #1 car.

For the next three seasons, Sport Clips will appear as an associate sponsor on the lower rear quarter panel of the #7 GEICO Chevrolet.  Accordingly, they will also appear on the team transporter, pit equipment and uniforms.

Sport Clips reunites with GEICO and Mike Wallace in a winning combination that produced both Sport Clips’ and GEICO’s first NASCAR Busch Series victories when Wallace passed Dale Earnhardt, Jr, and Jason Leffler coming out of Turn 4 to win the Winn-Dixie 250 at Daytona International Speedway on July 2, 2004.

Having worked together in the past, GEICO and Sport Clips are collectively working to promote their relationship with Mike Wallace and the #7 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS.  Earlier this month, GEICO traveled to Los Angeles where they filmed multiple television commercials featuring both Mike Wallace and his older brother Rusty, while also including the #7 car and show car trailer that both prominently featured the Sport Clips logo.  Sport Clips has reciprocated by providing nearly a hundred store locations where either of the two #7 GEICO show cars traveling around the United States will appear.

Sport Clips CEO and Founder, Gordon Logan, is excited about being back together with Wallace.

“We are pleased about the opportunity to once again partner with Mike Wallace in the NASCAR Busch Series,” Logan said.  “Mike is a family-oriented guy who fits the Sport Clips mold of quality, commitment and dedication.”  He continued, “There are few names bigger than Wallace in the sport of auto racing and we know that this will assist in our continued effort to build our brand nationally.  Sport Clips has over 400 stores in 32 states nationwide with an almost-perfect overlay with the NASCAR Busch Series races.  We look forward to our relationship with Mike Wallace and GEICO driving even more clients into our existing stores and the 100+ stores we plan to open in 2007.”

Mike Wallace was happy to hear that Sport Clips is ‘back in the family’.  “Gordon Logan and I have always maintained a great relationship, so I am excited to hear that we will once again be working together,” Wallace said.  “Obviously, Sport Clips is one of the fastest growing franchises in America, so I will take great pride in assisting them in their continued growth.  Our success on the race track will translate into success in each of their locations.”
