After Spinning in Kentucky, Mike Wallace is Excited to be in Milwaukee

Player Management International Media Release

West Allis, WI (June 22, 2007) – Mike Wallace found his world spinning on Lap 16 last week in Kentucky during the Meijer 300 presented by Oreo.  Unfortunately, the spin would send Wallace two laps down and end any hopes of a win, which is what Wallace contended for in 2006 in Kentucky before finishing 4th.

This week, Wallace will return to a track where he has traditionally experienced success and looks forward to getting himself and GEICO back in the Top 10 in the point standings.  The Milwaukee Mile is a place where he has recorded many Top 10’s, including in 2006 when he recorded a 5th place finish while driving Phoenix Racing’s #1 Miccosukee car.

“Milwaukee is a track where I love to race and I’m excited to be back here,” Wallace said.  “I finished 5th here last year and I look forward to running well again this year and putting the #7 GEICO Chevrolet back in the Top 10 in the point standings.  The Phoenix Racing team has been working hard and we are going to keep making progress.”

Wallace has picked up three spots in the standings over the last two weeks, moving from 19th to 16th and now sits just 116 points out of the Top 10 and 12 points out of the Top 15.

This week, Mike Wallace and the GEICO Racing team head to Milwaukee, WI, for the AT&T 250 on Saturday, June 23, 2007.  It is a one-day show in which the teams will practice, qualify and race all in the same day, which will prove to be a long day and night for both Wallace and the Phoenix Racing team members.

Wallace and the #7 GEICO Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS will hit the track at the Milwaukee Mile for their first practice on Saturday morning, June 23rd, at 10:00 AM (ET), with final practice at 12:00 PM (ET).  Qualifying is slated for 5:35 PM (ET).

On Saturday night, the AT&T 250 NASCAR Busch Series race will be televised live on ESPN2 with coverage beginning at 8:00 PM (ET) with green flag action coming at 8:30 PM (ET).  Motor Racing Network (MRN) will carry the live radio broadcast.
